From the WALNUT ROOM TO MARKETPLACE, my journey with Bruce Faber aka DJ Cupcake

Bruce came to be my manager when I was promoted from the beautiful Walnut Room, to the Marshall Fields Marketplace... in the basement. Bruce did his best to convince me that there was glamour down there and for a moment I certainly believed him.

The glamour came crashing down often, like everytime it rained, and we flooded, but when Macy's bought Marshall Fields...I was just heartbroken.

When I asked to sit down with Bruce for this piece and probed into what he's been up to now, he said:  I'm the owner of EHS Recruiting Company here in Chicago. I help restaurants, hotels, stadiums, and foodservice brand hire great leaders from Sous Chefs to CEO. I work nationwide with some of the top companies like Compass, Lettuce Entertain You, Darden, Landry’s even Macy’s and Levy are clients of mine. We also help small independent, franchise and start ups hire salaried staff only. I could always benefit from PR but prefer this be about you!!

Can you believe this guy?

In a sea of grumpiness, in these post-apocalyptic times where everyone is cynical and customer service died, there are still people like Bruce that remind us all to smile.

As I re-enter the realm of entrepreneurship bravely into Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, I want to very much put these new skills and talents to work in service of people who inspire me, past, present and future.

It is my hope to find an intersection of interests with Bruce, so I can recapture some golden era and benefit from the glory of my friend Bruce's energy. I think he is someone we can all learn from, in all walks of life :)

Please meet Bruce, aka DJ Cupcake.
